Getting Away to Ashley Inn

Once in while Thad and I get a chance to sneak away together, even spontaneously like this trip - for our 24th wedding anniversary. I guess we've been talking so much about celebrating our 25th that we almost let this year slide right by.

The Inn is on the main street of Cascade, but once you're inside, the charm of the Victorian decor and the smiles on the faces that greet you make you feel secluded from the world. We enjoyed a summer BBQ dinner in the private dinning room, then took advantage of the uninterrupted time to be together out on the lake while soaking up the warm evening sun on the rocks.

The morning air came with a bit more "crispness" than the evening sun, and stayed with us during breakfast out on the deck and our graze through the grasses and gazebos that lie on the property. We concluded our short, overnight trip with another visit to the lake. This time with less people and more of a quiet peace. Pictures don't do this place justice, but I'll share a few.
